Built in 1942 under the Boston Harbor Defense Command for East Point MR in Nahant and used as the most southern tower for Battery 103/Seamen at Fort Dearborn in Rye NH. The middle level was used for the Boston Defense Gun Group Two. The structure was disguised as a church tower with attached barracks. After the war the steeple on top of the tower was removed in 1945 for a radar and stayed there until the 1960s. At the time of the radar an addition was added to the back of the barracks which today houses restrooms. Many other buildings were built on the property including a transmitter tower.
