Built in 1943 on the ramparts of Fort Andrews (1776), this three story Fire Control Station for Battery 208 at Fourth Cliff MR was the most southern station for the Harbor Defenses of Boston. It was located on a 4.5 acre plot owned by the Coast Guard. The station is a strange design with two observation levels separated by a floor with large rectangular windows. The rear section of the structure consisted of the entrance and a generator. The station was stripped of all it's equipment immediately after WW2. A Pilgrim Atomic power plant siren was installed on the station in 1980. The station most likely was destroyed in 1997 when the lighthouse was removed but I do not know why because the station was trying to be entered into the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. A NGS report from 1991 claims the station existed but based on a 1964 report was not in good condition. Today there are no remains and most of the rampart the tower was located on has eroded away. Located at Gurnet Point, Plymouth Massachusetts.
