This battery was built in 1941. It consisted of four 155mm guns on Panama Mounts with earthen magazines and a wooden BC Station tower. Starting in December 1941 it was manned by Battery F 240th Coast Artillery (HD Portland) Maine National Guard until February 1943 when Battery E (HD Portsmouth) United States Army assumed control. In October 1943 Battery E was reassigned to the AMTB Battery at [[Pulpit Rock Camp]] in Rye NH. The battery was disarmed by 1945 when the reservation was vacated.
